Beautiful Motorola Moto G100

Starting with the fact that after Moto G100 was launched in this period, it came out to be the most powerful and versatile in the series of G series, establishing a budget friendly price for users who want flagship level performance. The present article gives an overview of what defines Moto G100 in terms of design, performance, camera, battery life, and software.

Design and Build

Sleek and modern, Motorola Moto G100 has a shiny plastic-made rear that gives it a glass-like look. Colors range from things like Iridescent Ocean and Iridescent Sky to tints that change colors with the light conditions to give the phone this striking reflective appearance. While the finish looks nice, though, the back being plastic simply makes it susceptible to scratches and fingerprints; hence, one should consider slapping a casing on in due time.

The phone is somewhat big at 168.4 x 74 x 9.7 mm and weighs roughly 207g, making it a tad heavier compared to other devices in the G series line. It’s got heft, but it adds to the solid build of the phone and gives you that nice feel, knowing it will be able to withstand normal use and abuse. On the back, there’s a square shaped quad camera module. This does protrude slightly from the body, just not enough to offset the overall aesthetic of the phone.

Cut into the right-hand side of the machine is a fingerprint reader tucked inside the power button. This is fast and reliable. Motorola has also included a 3.5mm headphone jack-a feature many flagship smartphones have binned yet remains extremely popular among users.

Display

The Moto G100 has fitted a 6.7-inch IPS LCD display in the display department. The screen boasts a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9-thus, guaranteeing great immersion when viewing. Though it doesn’t sport an AMOLED display, the IPS LCD display does strike a pretty good balance onscreen with punchy colors, good contrast, and sharp details. Other talk of the town is its 90Hz refresh rate, which gives the display a much smoother feel and more responsive, particularly while strolling through apps, playing games, or even browsing the web.

That tall aspect ratio of 21:9 is perfect for media consumption. Think movies, videos that really use that cinematic experience. For handling, though, this may be a bit narrow to some users since it can be quite challenging to operate this device with one hand.

Performance

And one of the strong points in the Moto G100 are performance driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. Extremely powerful, this processor the Snapdragon 870-is what has basically given near flagship performance to the Moto G100. Hence, it’s even smoother and responsive for gaming, multitasking, or everyday use. Paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM, depending on the model, this phone never had any issues churning through resource-intensive applications, games, and multitasking with literally no lag or slowdown of any sort.

The Moto G100 does a really great job regarding gaming because of its Adreno 650 GPU. Be it graphically heavy intensive titles like “Call of Duty Mobile” or “PUBG Mobile“; the device manages to keep the frame rates high and responsiveness great. On the internal storage front, one finds 128GB of UFS 3.1, making this quite fast concerning read and write speeds, which should be helpful in cases where one was to transfer a number of files or launch apps.

At the same time, the hardware puts the phone in a position to be one of the powerful mid-segment gadgets in its class, equal to most flagships for raw performance. The Moto G100 also supports 5G connectivity-meaning one can avail oneself of next-generation mobile speeds for faster downloads and smoother streaming.

Software

My UX The Moto G100 comes powered with Android 11, with Motorola’s custom skin My UX laying on top. However, the My UX is pretty close to a stock Android experience. My UX develops the user interface with more considerate features, including Moto Actions and Moto Display. That doesn’t make a phone full of bloatware or any extra customizations. This light software provides easy navigation and fluidity in the phone’s interface.

Moto Actions: Users can enable and disable the feature with the help of simple gestures. For instance, chop the phone twice to turn on the flashlight or twist the phone to open the camera. This adds to the ease of use of the phone. Moto Display gives you a look into notifications and updates without turning the whole display on and hence helps conserve battery life.

One of the headline acts of the Moto G100 is its “Ready For” platform. In effect, this system converts the phone into a near-desktop experience if you plug it into an external monitor-to give you a workstation experience for your phone, a game console, or video conferencing. This gives users a PC-like interface with apps and features optimized for larger screens.

Camera

In the Moto G100, it has fitted a quad camera array, including a 64MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP depth sensor, and a TOF camera sensor to get better depth measurement. Photos taken with the 64MP camera on this smartphone are sharp and detailed in good conditions. This camera does a pretty great job in colors, saturation, and dynamic range as well.

The ultra-wide camera comes in very handy in case you want to shoot landscapes or group photos with several people in the same frame. It does a reasonable job in low light, though lags compared to some flagships. The Moto G100 has a Night Vision mode, which upscales image quality in a low light environment. The camera also combines a 16-megapixel primary wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens on the front to handle group selfies with poise.

The front camera also features portrait mode, among a few other creative features, therefore making the selfie experience for users multifaceted. Going further, it supports 6K video at 30fps, which is very rare in this budget segment. The shot video is sharp, with smooth stabilization and perfect for those users who are into shooting high quality videos.

Battery

Its kept alive by a 5000mAh battery, which again should give really good battery life to most people. In our case, with heavy browsing, gaming, and video streaming, the device easily lasted a full day on a single charge. And even in heavy usage, the battery fared quite well suitable for power users. It also supports 20W of fast charging, which isn’t the fastest around, but will still do the job and refill the battery in a reasonably short amount of time.

Unfortunately, the Moto G100 doesn’t feature wireless charging, and that’s indeed a feature some might miss at this price. The Moto G100 is surely one of the better options in the mid class segment of smartphones, combining flagship class performance with 5G connectivity and a clean software experience. The rather powerful Snapdragon 870 chipset inside houses in it, thus making it an excellent candidate for both gamers and multitaskers.

Its versatile camera setup makes it “Ready For” desktop mode, while the big battery gives it a plus. While the plastic build and lack of wireless charging might be minor drawbacks, the Moto G100 more than makes up for that with the performance and its feature set a very convincing case for users looking for a powerful and feature packed smartphone but at an affordable price.
